lavaboy77: New Member Introduction

Hello fellow Blazermaniacs.

Im Dennis, aka lavaboy77, a 28 year old Trail Blazer fan from Western Massachusetts. I've been a die-hard fan since the 1990-91 season and routinely go see the Blazers when they play in Boston.

As far as my favorite current Trail Blazer, I would have to say that I like Martell Webster. I havent seen much of him, but I like his potential and his attitude.

Im glad to see that we re-signed Pryzbilla yesterday (well, he committed because teams cannot sign free agents for almost another week) because that shows that he is dedicated to the team.

The draft was a great day in Trail Blazers recent history. Lets face it. This franchise has been borderline-cursed for at least 10 years. We had some good teams. But we had some bad players in terms of character and behavior, both off the court and on.

Rasheed, Bonzi, Rider, Stoudamire, Woods, Miles, Zach, even Telfair with his gun incident.

Im glad to see that we're bringing in players that have character that rivals their talent.

This franchise is in complete disarray, from top to bottom. I told a friend prior to the draft that the only constant on this team from the ownership to the front office to the players is the coach. I like Nate's style and his desire.

Hopefully this team can get rid of the overpaid malcontents (Miles and Randolph). It would be a dream off season if we could dump both. I would trade them to the Knicks for two hot dogs, some nachos and a large coke.

Im serious.

Anyhow, we have a great young nucleus that has the potential to be superb if it develops to its potential.

I want to see Rip City returned to glory.

Go Blazers!!

Alrighty blazer fans:

Its draft time! Who should we draft? Opinions!

-I'd like to see the blazers draft LaMarcus Albrige but he'll probally be off the market. Maybe we could throw in like one of the later picks and 4 or Outlaw or something.

-Next choice would be Adam Morrison perhaps, Roy is good too but we already have webster!

**Breaking News**

Trail Blazers Will Not Renew John Nash's Contract

The Portland Trail Blazers announced last night that the contract of General Manager John Nash will not be extended for next season. President Steve Patterson will immediately serve as interim general manager and the organization will initiate a search for a new general manager.

President Steve Patterson said, on behalf of the entire organization, "All of us at the Trail Blazers appreciate John's effort and hard work under difficult circumstances and thank him for the enormous class he displayed throughout his time here."

The following is a statement from John Nash:
"I want to extend my deepest gratitude to the Trail Blazers organization for the opportunity afforded to me to be a part of this Team and this Community over the last three seasons. Although we shared some successes as an organization, I wish we could have made more rapid progress on the court. I am very proud of the young men that have joined the team in recent years and under the guidance of the outstanding coaching staff that is in place, progress will be made in subsequent seasons. The upcoming draft will render another talent to the roster.

I would also like to thank the fans who were so supportive and patient during this difficult time of transition. Portland is a wonderful place filled with terrific fans who want nothing more than for the Team to succeed. I share their sentiments and I will be rooting for the day when the Team makes Portland proud again. The past three years gave me a marvelous opportunity to meet new friends and gain an appreciation for Portland, the Northwest as well as the Trail Blazers."

frenchmaidrobot: New To Community

Hey guys. My name is Nick and my favorite player is Sebastian Telfair, mostly because of the new documentary about him that's opening this month. It's called THROUGH THE FIRE. You're all probably already familiar with his amazing leap from high school basketball to the NBA. If it wasn't for his luck, the movie would've turned into a tragedy of fruitless gamble and family heartbreak.

Anyway, check it out this weekend if you're in Portland or LA.

gemlikeflame: Awwww, how sweet.

Nov 4 Trail Blazers center Joel Przybilla will be a free agent at the end of the season and he would like to re-sign with the team, even if it means taking a pay cut. "He feels like he owes the Blazers a degree of loyalty because they were the only team that took a chance on him," said the Oregonian's Jason Quick.

Views: Przybilla is obviously a poster boy for what negative things can happen when you leave college early, but since joining the Trail Blazers last year, his career has taken a turn in the right direction. He probably will never be a dominant low-post scorer, but his rebounding and shot blocking ability are significant and will be coveted in the free agent market next offseason.

totalnerd: Pre-season begins

Anyone else going to the Blazers/Sonics game tonight? (I and a bunch of friends all got free tix, so we're doing the food/drink downtown after work then MAX to the Rose Garden thing.) Getting excited to see what Nate can do with this young bunch. After tonight and maybe a couple more pre-season games, I'll post my predictions for the season (which will hopefully include the words, "Telfair" and "breakout season").

missholldoll: Free tickets

Hey Blazer fans! I just thought everyone should know that you can score some free pre-season tickets. No strings attached, I did this last year and it was a lot of fun. Just fill out this 5 sec survey. Here is the link http://contest.blazers.com/TicketNet/Default.aspx?b=397931&a=1636&m=227 RobRob and I are going to the sonics (yay for Luke Ridnor) and the clippers games.

I was also thinking maybe to pump up this community for the season we should start a little survivor game with the blazers roster, coaches, and management. Whatever person gets the most votes for the day then they get kicked off the island until finally we have choosen our lucky winner. I was also thinking, everyone should say why they are voting whoever off. So what do you guys think? It could be tons of fun!
